Upon arrival, in Kigali, you will be picked up by your guide and transferred to your booked accommodation for the night.

After your morning breakfast, you have a short city tour to visit sights like the Kigali genocide memorial before transferring to Akagera National Park, arriving in time for an evening boat safari.

After an early breakfast, drive to northern sector of the park where you will encounter various wildlife including Zebras, Giraffes, Impalas, Elephants, Buffaloes, Topi’s and the elusive leopards.  On a lucky day, you will sight a pride of lions before they go into hiding. There are also birds and a beautiful scenery of different landscapes to view.

Have a relaxed breakfast and transfer to Nyungwe forest national park via Kigali. Have a stopover in Huye for lunch and a visit to the national museum to learn more about the history and traditions of the Rwanda people, arriving in Nyungwe forest later in the evening.

Leave for Chimpanzee tracking after an early breakfast, Nyungwe forest is a rich biodiversity, home to 13 species of primates including Chimpanzees, L’Hoest monkeys, and Columbus monkeys and over 300 bird species. After tracking the great ape, return to the lodge and prepare to either go for a canopy walk or simply relax.

Transfer to Volcanoes national park after breakfast, while enjoying the scenic drive with different stopovers for pictures.

Overnight at: Le Bambou Gorilla Village (Bed & Breakfast)

Gorilla trekking a once in a lifetime experience, therefore, make sure to enjoy every moment! You will trek the dense forest after a briefing at the park headquarters. Upon meeting these great apes, you will have one hour to view them as they go about their daily routines. This trek can last from a few minutes to several hours depending on where the gorillas nested the previous night.

On your way to Lake Kivu, visit the gorilla guardians’ village, for a Rwandan cultural experience try using a local bow and arrow and enjoy songs & folks from the Rwanda society. Proceed reaching kivu in time for a relaxed evening.

Overnight at: Bethanie Hotel (Bed & Breakfast)

Today, you will explore Lake Kivu, visit a hot spring, take a boat trip to an island, kayak or go swimming. You will have a relaxed evening by the shores before dinner and overnight.

Start the day with a relaxed breakfast before transferring to Kigali, depending on your flight time, you can do some souvenir shopping before being dropped off at the airport in time for your flight back home. We hope you enjoyed your time exploring the country of a thousand hills.
